What is kinesiology tape?
Kinesiology tape is an elastic cotton strip with an adhesive backing used in cosmetology, medicine, and sports. It mimics the skin in elasticity, thickness, and weight.
What is it used for?
- Improves blood and lymph flow
- Reduces pain
- Corrects muscle movement
- Enhances muscle function
- Improves skin tone
- Supports and stabilizes muscles and joints
How does kinesiology tape work?
Depending on the goal, a specialist applies the tape in specific patterns.
To reduce pain or improve lymph flow, the tape is applied to gently lift the skin above muscles and fascia. This reduces irritation of pain receptors and relieves pressure from swelling on tissues and vessels.
To correct movement or support muscles, the tape is applied along the muscle's direction with the appropriate tension and fixation.
Apply the tape to clean, dry skin. The adhesive is hypoallergenic and causes no irritation. The tape can be worn for up to 5 days. It’s water-resistant and latex-free.
Does the tape color matter?
The color of kinesiology tape affects only the visual appearance—it does not influence its functionality or effectiveness.
Tape performance is defined by the material, elasticity, stickiness, and application technique—not color.
Choose beige for a discreet look or bright colors for visibility.
We recommend consulting a specialist for proper application.
